In order to create meaningful and sustained change, Springpoint’s approach is grounded in principles of Liberatory Design, which calls upon us to embed equity throughout our work in specific and consistent ways.

• Our work is grounded in the recognition of profound systemic inequities.
  We intentionally support schools that serve students who have had to confront longstanding inequities embedded in our educational systems. This includes students of color, LGBTQ+ youth and those with disabilities, who also may experience obstacles such as bias or low expectations. We focus on unearthing, understanding and addressing disparities to increase opportunity and agency for each and every student so that all young people feel seen and actively supported in their educational journeys.
• We ground our partnerships in respect, possibility, and purpose.
  We honor the diversity of the communities we serve, designing side-by-side with them as true partners in the work. We seek to know a community deeply, invite dialogue, and listen with curiosity so that we can build the kind of trust that enables real change. We aim to harness the power of adolescent curiosities, wisdom, and experiences to spark change and speak important truths to those in positions of power. We do this by centering the voices and lived experiences of students and engaging with them directly to co-create solutions that foster equitable outcomes. By supporting our partners to develop visions of excellence and supporting exceptional outcomes in their contexts, we help people see what's possible, disrupt biases, and reconnect them to their purpose by igniting the passion and beliefs that brought them to education.
• We prioritize actions that embrace complexity and reject quick fixes.
  Because we know that top-down mandates and band-aid solutions for complex challenges do not work, we reject this approach in our partnerships with communities, schools, and districts. Instead, we facilitate deep thinking around ways inequities manifest in each specific context. In collaboration, we address root causes, seeking strategies that are attuned to the experience of the most vulnerable populations and will result in meaningful change for all learners.
• We are committed to reflection and learning to ensure that our work continuously aligns with our values.
  We are an organization dedicated to inquiry and iteration. We constantly evolve our internal processes to better manifest inclusiveness and a supportive culture. In our work with partners, we ensure that systems are in place to hear their feedback, interrogate our efforts, and emphasize learning and continuous improvement on behalf of young people.
