Ashley Hendricks

Director, Leadership & School Design

As a Director, Leadership & School Design at Springpoint, Ashley supports and coaches high school leadership teams and school leaders nationally. Her work largely focuses on school observations, feedback, and an evolving approach to professional development and coaching. A Boston resident for nearly a decade, she brings a passion for transformational equity through people development that will support the organization’s work to ensure that every partner and school has what they need to reimagine high school for young people.

Prior to joining Springpoint, Ashley worked in the Boston Public School district as a Lead Principal the Pauline Agassiz Shaw Elementary School and continues to serve on various local and state-level advisory boards. As a Lead Principal, Ashley coached her colleagues, mentored principal fellows, and supported the district’s professional learning planning and facilitation for multiple years. Before embarking on school leadership Ashley found joy as a ninth grade English teacher at Match Public Charter School in Boston, where she piloted a Climate Coaching role to ensure that cultural responsiveness was embedded in the school’s daily practices.

Ashley began her career in education as a high schooler, tutoring middle school scholars and learning the formal art of teaching through Breakthrough Collaborative, a national summer fellowship program. A proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Kentucky State University, a Historically Black Institution, and a Master’s of Arts in Effective Teaching from the Charlie Sposato Graduate School of Education.
