Jeffrey has over 20 years of experience in education. For 11 years he oversaw leadership development for principals, APs, and teacher leaders for a network of district schools in Los Angeles, supporting school transformation in the city’s longest underserved communities. For a decade Jeffrey worked in New York City as a middle and high school principal, assistant principal, instructional leadership coach, and high school social studies teacher.
Jeffrey has experience with the largest school systems in America (NYC, LAUSD, and more), as well as small and mid-sized districts, CMOs, and nonprofits. He has supported school leaders, system leaders, and teacher leaders in their efforts to build and sustain high quality organizations that work to intentionally close equity gaps and address our nation’s history of denying opportunity to low income, Black, brown, and immigrant communities.
Jeffrey began his career working in college admissions at his alma mater Dartmouth College, and earned his Master’s at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A native of Saint Paul, Minnesota and having attended public schools from K-12 himself, Jeffrey firmly believes in the importance of a high quality, public education in a democratic society. Jeffrey is also the co-host of the long-running, justice-centered podcast All of the Above: An Unstandardized Take on Education.
