As Director, Learning Experiences, Emily supports the development, implementation and scale of Springpoint’s Transformative Learning Experience units and instructional coaching initiatives.

Prior to joining the team, Emily spent over a decade at Achievement First as a math teacher, director of secondary mathematics and high school principal at Achievement First Hartford High School. During her tenure as principal, Emily helped scale the school from a single grade level to a fully comprehensive model with 98% of graduates taking at least one AP course and AP exam past rates ranking within the top 10 nationally among peer charter organizations. U.S. News and World Report named Achievement First Hartford High School the #3 school in the state in 2018 and 2019 with a gold medal distinction. Over 90% of graduating seniors matriculated to four-year colleges with 85% being the first in their family to graduate from college. Emily started her career as a Teach For America corps member in Washington, D.C. She has also supported districts and charter networks across the country in instructional leadership as both a consultant and Director at TNTP. She believes deeply in the power of a rigorous and purposeful high school learning experience that puts students at the center. 

Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Carleton College and a Masters of Arts in Teaching in secondary mathematics from American University.
