StorySLAM: Teaching and Learning in New Ways – Featured Session!

Wednesday, October 25 from 2:15 – 3:15 pm
Location: Northern Hemisphere BC

Students, teachers, and principals of competency-based high schools will share their experiences in an interactive StorySLAM format, focused on the theme of “Teaching and Learning in New Ways.” Stories will illuminate the challenges and possibilities of innovative new learning environments, including personalized learning, competency-based education, and student-centered school design. We hosted a StorySLAM at last year’s iNACOL Symposium, which garnered a lot of positive feedback that we’re excited to bring it back for a second year in a row. The great stories from last year were featured on CompetencyWorks. Springpoint’s own Victoria Crispin will moderate. Storytellers include:

  • Brian Brochetti, College and Career Success Manager, Lincoln-West School of Global Studies
  • LaKayla Eberhardt, Student, Lincoln-West School of Global Studies
  • Margarita Lopez, English teacher, Urban Assembly Maker Academy
  • Richard Rutherford, Student, Urban Assembly Maker Academy
  • Carlos Beato, Founding Principal, International High School Langley Park
  • Yonatan Weldeberuk, Student, International High School Langley Park
  • Sam Sherwood, Director of Instruction and School Design, Springpoint
